Captain Bill’s Fried Oysters

If you love oysters like I do, this recipe is a must! There is nothing better than fried oysters and this easy recipe brings them right to your dining room table!

Ingredients:

  • 24 Oysters Shucked and Drained
  • 1 Cup of Buttermilk
  • 2 Cups Fine Bread Crumbs – I use New Orleans Style Fish Fry Seafood Breading Mix
  • 2 Quarts of Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 Teaspoon Paprika

Directions:

  1. Combine the Buttermilk, Salt, and Pepper, Paprika in a large bowl.
  2. Add the Oysters and allow to marinate for 20 minutes.
  3. Heat oil to 375 degrees.
  4. Put bread crumbs in a separate large bowl.
  5. Dredge Oysters in bread crumbs until all sides are covered.
  6. Cook in the oil for about 2 minutes until golden brown in batches of about 5.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy.
