Blushing Bowtie Pasta with Sausage

Ingredients

  • 1 Box Bowtie pasta
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1 Pound Ground Sausage 
  • 1 1/2 Cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 28 Ounce Can Plum Tomatoes
  • 1/4 Cup Riesling (or white wine of your choice)
  • 1/2 Small White Onion
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • 2 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Teaspoon Salt
  • Parsley Flakes as Garnish
  • Parmasan Cheese as Garnish

Directions

  1. Dice Onion
  2. Drain tomatoes and chop
  3. Coat bottom of large deep skillet with olive oil
  4. Pull sausage into small pieces and add it with the red pepper flakes until fully cooked at medium heat
  5. In a large pot add water and olive oil and bring water to a boil
  6. Add wine, onions, and garlic to the sausage and cook until onions are translucent, stir occasionally 
  7. Cook bowtie pasta for 12 minutes in boiling pot
  8. Add tomatoes, cream, and salt to the sausage and continue to cook at medium heat until it begins to bubble. Simmer for 10 -12 minutes until the sauce thickens
  9. Drain the pasta
  10. Stir pasta into the sauce and mix well
  11. Sprinkle with parsley and parmesan cheese and serve!
