Have you ever wanted to make Bourbon Chicken like the kind you get at the mall? This recipe is even better complements of your Official Town Guru.
Ingredients:
- 2 Pounds of Chicken Thighs
- 4 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
- 1 Tablespoon Canola or Sunflower Oil
- 1/2 Teaspoon Sesame Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Minced Ginger
- 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
- 1/4 Cup Brown Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Bourbon
- 1/4 Cup Rice Wine Vinegar
- 1 Teaspoon Cornstarch
- 1 Tablespoon Water
- Sesame Seeds
Directions:
- Dice the chicken into 1 – 1 1.2 inch cubes
- Mix Canola or Sunflower oil with sesame oil in a wok and heat
- Add chicken and cook until fully browned
- Add garlic and ginger and cook for 2 minutes. Add additional oil if needed
- In a mixing bowl combine soy sauce, brown sugar, bourbon, and rice wine vinegar
- Add the sauce to the wok and and allow it to simmer for about 3 minutes
- In a mixing bowl whisk the water and cornstarch
- Slowly add the cornstarch to the wok and continue to stir until it thickens. Use additional cornstarch if necessary
- Garnish with sesame seeds
- Serve and enjoy (many people enjoy it over white rice)!
