Many call it New York Cheesecake but this recipe is straight from New Jersey and the best cheesecake that you will ever make or eat. I call it Jersey Shore Cheesecake.
Crust Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crust (optional use oreo cookie crust instead)
- 1/4 cup Sugar
- 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Crust Directions:
- Mix crust ingredients together combining well
- In a 9 inch springform pan, press the crust evenly pressing up one inch on the sides..
- Bake in a 375 degree preheated oven for 8 minutes.
- Remove and allow to cool.
Cheesecake Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 Pounds Philadelphia Cream Cheese
- 1 Cup Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons all purpose Flour
- 1 Teaspoon grated Lemon Peel
- 1 Teaspoon grated Orange Peel
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 4 Eggs
- 2 Tablespoons Heavy Cream
- Chocolate Chips (optional)
Cheesecake Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.
- Smooth the creme cheese completely. (If you have an electric mixer it is easier)
- Slowly add the sugar and mix.
- Add the flour, vanilla extract, lemon peel, and orange peel.
- Add the heavy cream, eggs, and chocolate chips (optional), and mix until combined.
- Pour the filling into the crust, place on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 10 minutes. Reduce the oven temperature to 200 degrees and bake for about 60 minutes or until the center is still a little soft but not wobbly.
- Remove from the oven and loosen the ring carefully. Let cool.
- Refrigerate loosely covered for 8 hours or overnight.
