Amazing Marinara Recipe

Looking for a fantastic yet easy marinara recipe? This one will have family and friends raving!

Ingredients:

  • Large Yellow Onion Chopped
  • 4 Teaspoons Minced Garlic
  • 4 – 28 ounce cans San Marzano Peeled Tomatoes
  • 1 Pork Hock
  • 30 Fresh Basil Leaves Chopped
  • 1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 Bay Leaves
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Oregano
  • 1 Teaspoon Dried Thyme
  • Kosher Salt to Taste

Directions:

  1. Using a stock pot, heat olive oil and cook onions with a pinch of salt until they are translucent. 
  2. Add the garlic and cook just until the garlic is aromatic. 
  3. Reduce the heat to the lowest setting and add the tomatoes. 
  4. Crush the tomatoes then add the bay leaf, oregano, thyme, and pork hock. 
  5. Cover and allow to simmer for about 3 hours making sure the tomatoes do not burn.
  6. Turn off the flame, add the kosher salt to taste and fresh basil leaves.
  7. Remove Bay Leaves and Pork Hock
  8. Serve or jar and refrigerate or freeze.
