Empanada Dough Recipe

Empanadas are a favorite among many. What many don’t know is that the dough for empanada’s is easy to make. Enjoy this empanada dough recipe courtesy of your Official Town Guru! Stay tuned for some great filling recipes in the next few weeks!

Ingredients:

  • 3 Cups All Purpose Flour
  • 1/2 Tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 Sticks of Unsalted Butter Room Tempurature
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 Cup Water
  • 1/4 Cup Milk

Directions:

  1. Mix Flour and Salt with a Kitchen Aid, Mixer, or by hand
  2. Add the butter and continue to mix until mixed well.
  3. Add the egg then slowly add the water and milk and continue to mix until clumpy dough forms.
  4. Separate the dough into 2 large balls.
  5. Using a rolling pin, roll out the ball out into a very thin sheet of dough. 
  6. Cut out round disc shapes using a cup or bowl.
  7. Collect the excess dough, roll again and repeat the process until all dough is used. 
  8. Use immediately or refrigerate for up to 2 days.
