Nature’s Food Patch Teams Up with HEP and Dunedin Cares

To Feed those in Need this Holiday Season

Your local and organic, family-owned grocer, Nature’s Food Patch Market & Café in Clearwater and Downtown Dunedin, is collecting healthy organic foods to donate to families in need through December 31st, 2022.  Nature’s Food Patch (The Patch) has once again teamed up with local charities this season to feed those in need over the holidays.

Customers simply grab and purchase a pre-packaged $10 bag of food at checkout. The Patch will donate it directly to one of their charity partners. All donations collected at their Clearwater store will go to Homeless Empowerment Program (HEP) and all donations from their Dunedin location will go to Dunedin Cares Food Pantry (Dunedin Cares). Items donated are non-perishable food staples, such as canned vegetables, canned beans and other canned goods. Last year, The Patch and its customers collected over $16,000 worth of food for the two charities.

Customers may also choose the option of donating a holiday food bag online through Patch Curbside Pickup. Each donation helps to feed the local community. As a thank you for donating, customers will receive a free gift! Enjoy a complimentary Nature’s Food Patch reusable shopping bag when you donate. Reusable shopping bags help to save our planet by reducing waste. The Patch encourages shoppers to reuse their free bag for future purchases to help with their vision of inspiring the community to build a healthier world.

In addition, to encourage customers to bring their own re-usable bags for groceries, Nature’s Food Patch will offer a 5¢ donation per bag to a different charitable organization each month. Their Ban the Bag, Bring Your Own donation for November went to HEP, while the December donation will go to Dunedin Cares. The natural foods grocer began the campaign on Earth Day of 2008. Since that time – as of October 2022 – The Patch has seen an estimated total of 961,698 reusable shopping bags from their wonderful customers making a total donation of over $49,733 to support the community!
