Looking for a hearty breakfast recipe that is great for the whole family? Try this fantastic Baked Caramel French Toast recipe: Serves 8-10
Topping Ingredients:
- 1 Cup firmly packed Brown Sugar
- 6 Tablespoons of Butter
- 1/3 Cup Whipping Cream
- 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
French Toast Ingredients:
- 3 Large Eggs
- 1/2 Cup Milk
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 1/4 Teaspoon Salt
- 1 Loaf of French or Italian Bread sliced in diagonal 3/4 inch slices
Directions:
- Grease a 13×9 inch glass baking pan
- In a medium saucepan, combine all of the topping ingredients mixing well
- Heat on medium – medium high heat until smooth stirring constantly – Do not allow to boil
- Spread topping evenly in the greased baking dish
- Beat eggs in a mixing bowl
- Add milk vanilla extract and salt and mix well
- Dip each slice of bread in the mixture
- Place bread slices over the mixture in the greased baking pan – Use enough bread to fill the baking pan
- Cover and refrigerate overnight (at least 8 hours)
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Uncover the baking pan and cook for 20 to 25 minutes until or until french toast is bubbly and golden brown
- Let stand for 3-5 minutes then serve and enjoy!
