Delicious Apple Cake Recipe

Apple picking season is here so here is a great recipe that the whole family will enjoy.

Ingredients:

Apple Ingredients:

• 6 apples
• 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon
• 5 tablespoons granulated sugar

Cake Ingredients:

• 2 3/4 cups flour
• 1 tablespoon baking powder
• 1 teaspoon fine sea or table salt
• 1 cup vegetable oil
• 2 cups granulated sugar
• 1/4 cup orange juice
• 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
• 4 large eggs

Directions:

1. Heat oven to 350 degrees.
2. Grease a tube pan.
3. Peel, core and chop apples into about 1 inch chunks.
4. Toss with cinnamon and 5 tablespoons granulated sugar and set aside.
5. Stir together flour, baking powder and salt in a large mixing bowl.
6. In a separate bowl, whisk oil, orange juice, sugar, vanilla and eggs.
7. Mix wet ingredients into dry ones.
8. Pour half of batter into prepared pan.
9. Spread half of apples over it.
10. Pour the remaining batter over the apples and place the remaining apples on top.
11. Bake for about 1 1/2 hours.
12. Cool completely before running knife between cake and pan.
13. Remove onto serving plate.
