The Gulfport Merchants Chamber of Commerce (GMC (Gulfport Merchants Chamber) is pleased to announce a special Shop Local program for the holiday season. Starting now, local shoppers should start saving receipts from GMC Member businesses to enter to win an amazing raffle in December.  Winners will be drawn on December 17th at 7PM in front of the GMC office located at 3101 Beach Boulevard South in Gulfport, Florida. 

Every transaction at a GMC member business will be eligible for one raffle entry. The more frequently customers buy, the more entries they will receive. Shoppers should save their receipts and bring them to the IndieFaire or Gulfport Boulevard Block Party on Dec. 17th.  After presenting each receipt to a GMC Volunteer, they will receive an equal number of entries for gifts donated by area businesses. Participants need not be present to win.  

Shopping locally is incredibly important, especially during the holiday season. The fourth quarter is critical for many small business owners. We need these businesses in our community, and they need us. That is why we are hosting this raffle. The Gulfport Merchants Chamber of Commerce wants to draw attention to the importance of supporting our neighbors through buying locally. We are going to make a lot of shoppers happy this year with this raffle. Just wait until you see the baskets donated by our members,” said Barbara Banno, President of the GMC.  

GMC encourages residents and visitors to explore the unique finds in its creative community this holiday season. Banno adds, “It is a magical time in our whimsical town. Shoppers tell me all the time–there is no place like Gulfport. Our member businesses sell the kind of distinctive products and services that make gift recipients feel special. Shopping is not a chore in Gulfport. It is a treasure hunt!”   The GMC will be providing signage and flyers for all members who wish to promote this shop local campaign.
