TBAIMS LLC will be bringing a new monthly music showcase and networking event to the Tampa Bay Area called Connecting Through Music, maintaining the TBAIMS brand which originally started as The Big Apple Indie Music Series in New York City in January of 2013. Ideally, the TBAIMS will stand for The Best Artist Indie Music Series as that what we truly are. TBAIMS was founded by Jon Landers currently from Land O Lakes, FL after moving to Florida in 2015. Destination Tampa Bay is proud to be a media sponsor of this event series.
Connecting Tampa Bay through Music:
The events will all be held at the all popular Ferg’s Restaurant in St. Petersburg. The first event will feature the opening music of Nathaniel Lee with Brake Fail as the feature band that will take place on September 9 from 7-11p.m.
Connecting and Opening with Nathaniel Lee:
Nathaniel Lee is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer. Playing bar gigs by day, and writing and recording in his home studio by night. Nathaniel got his start in music as a teenager by playing drums in cover bands. Eventually, Nathaniel linked up with the original, theatrical, metal band, “Re-Birth”. Nathaniel spent a total of 5 years with the band, cutting their teeth playing local shows, festivals, and opening for National acts, such as Soulfly, Hed P.E, and Metallica.
After some time though, Nathaniel felt creatively unfulfilled, and restricted as the drummer of a metal band, and decided it was best to go separate ways, in pursuit of his own dreams. Shortly after this departure, Nathaniel released his debut album “Southern Soul”, recording and engineering the entire album in his childhood bedroom with the help of his friend, Kevin Fox. “Southern Soul” was written with a mashup of all of Nathaniel’s favorite genres at the time. Blending the rhythms of 60’s soul, the sonic space of country music, and the intensity of hard rock, “Southern Soul” came across as a very unique record. Nathaniel’s newest single, and music video, “Might As Well Get Stoned” is set to be released July 23rd, along with much more to be announced in the coming months!

Brake Fail Brings Diverse Talents and Experience to the Performance Stage
Hailing from Sarasota with a dynamic sound that represents “melodic rock of a different color” (Dave Hottle, College Underground Radio), Brake Fail performs high-energy, original songs to get audiences clapping and toes tapping. Each of the all-star band’s eight members is originally from New York, DC, St. Louis, or some part of Florida, and most have individually performed across the U.S. from Baltimore to L.A. and beyond, touring with or opening for notable acts such as Bryan Johnson (ACDC), Fear of Flying, Leon Russell, Buddy Guy, Savoy Brown, and others.
Founded in May 2018 by lead guitarist/songwriter Jeff Adams and drummer Loren Berry, Brake Fail describes its music on Reverbnation as “simply a cross between, but not limited to, the type of style that is not only for the young and old but is also for the good and the bad. And the ugly.” A Capitol/EMI recording artist and Hall of Fame guitarist/songwriter, Jeff Adams had earlier collaborated with Loren Berry, who founded The Crashers, a successful Southwest Florida band that backed former Temptations’ lead singer Glenn Leonard in a Motown Review act titled “Glenn Leonard Presents Hitsville Live.” Brake Fail’s Paul Champagne (Keys/Vocals) and Chris Durso (Bass) also played with The Crashers.
Patrick Ray Walsh provides Lead Vocals/Keys for Brake Fail, and Terry Fritts joins him on Sax. Jessica Amboyan and Mimi Schankman (“The Braketts”) offer a harmonious blend of backing vocals to complete the band’s sound. The extensive performance bios for all of the band’s members can be found on their website: https://www.brakefail.net. Brake Fail is also on Talent Watch, where music fans can rate their favorite artists.
The Best Venue To Enjoy: Ferg’s Sports Bar
Each month, TBAIMS will be hosting a music showcase at Ferg’s Sports Bar & Grill in St. Petersburg and invite up to 6 independent music artists of various genres to perform a live 20 minute set or 4 songs each. They will also invite music, entertainment, TV and film industry executives to connect with these artists. In time, TBAIMS will expand this concept to other venues around Florida and the to other cities and states.
Working with ReverbNation, TBAIMS receives from 2400 to over 4800 submissions from artists across globe that would like to perform for their showcases knowing it could connect them with industry professionals that could help their music careers.
The process of which these artists are reviewed are based on seeing video footage of live performances so they can see the artist’s stage presence, how well they engage their audience, ability to sing on key without the use of auto-tune, how well they promote on social media and content of lyrical material. They don’t accept any lyrical material with profanity, that defames women or promotes violence. This is what stands us apart from all other music showcases; we can be considered the “Disney” of genres!
In addition, they are building collaborative relations with music festivals across North America and eventually on a global basis to help their growing family of artists opportunities to perform outside their local areas. They are also collaborating with some of the best artist development agencies in LA, Nashville, New York and Florida to help those artists that don’t pass their vetting process to help them get to the next level of their music careers.
TBAIMS LLC is looking for corporate sponsors that support the arts in music and interested in building the Tampa Bay Area into another major music capital similar to New York, Nashville and LA. With your help, we can accomplish this in a timely fashion going forward.
