Seven-Time WTA Tour Finalist to Compete at Innisbrook Resort April 11-17
Former Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard (featured above) has been awarded a wild card for the U.S. Pro Women’s Clay Court Championship occurring April 11-17 at Innisbrook Resort. The seven-time WTA Tour finalist, who will be playing in her first tennis event since having shoulder surgery last season, is the first player confirmed for the event.
The U.S. Pro Women’s Clay Court Championship, a $100,000 USTA Pro Circuit and ITF singles and doubles event, returns to Innisbrook Resort for the first time since 2019. The tournament is also part of the USTA French Open wild card challenge, awarding an American player a wild card entry to the second Grand Slam event in 2022.
Former champions at Innisbrook Resort include 2022 Australian Open champion and current World No. 1 Ashleigh Barty (2013 doubles) along with current World No. 4 and reigning French Open winner Barbora Krejcikova (2019 singles).

As a former World No. 5, Bouchard was the first Canadian male or female to be ranked in the top five. In 2012, she became Canada’s first Grand Slam singles titleholder when she captured the junior Wimbledon title in 2012. Two years later as a professional, she reached the 2014 Wimbledon final before falling to Petra Kvitova.
After being named the 2013 WTA Newcomer of the Year, Bouchard’s light shined even brighter the following season. She won her first career title, reached two Grand Slam semifinals (Australian Open and French Open) and qualified for the WTA finals in route to being named the 2014 WTA Most Improved Player. She is also a six-time winner on the ITF Circuit.
Qualifying for the U.S. Pro Women’s Clay Court Championship begins April 11 while main draw action takes place April 12. A feature match will be played April 12-15 at 5:30 p.m. following the morning and afternoon matches. The singles semifinals and the doubles final are set for April 16 at 11 a.m. The singles final will take place on April 17 at 1 p.m.
In addition to the professional tennis, the tournament will be hosting numerous special events that include meeting the players, live music from local legends Black Honkeys Band, and more. Fans can also enjoy the fare from several food trucks that will be at Innisbrook Resort during the week, including Pam Pizza Conez, Go STUFF Urself and Wich Press.

U.S. Pro Women’s Clay Court Championships:
The annual U.S. Pro Women’s Clay Court Championships is a USTA Pro Circuit event. This week-long showcase will bring some of the best women’s tennis players from around the world in addition to offering nightly live entertainment, amazing food and drinks, and a social atmosphere that rivals some of the area’s best. The $100,000 tournament is also part of the USTA’s French Open wild card challenge. In 2019, Barbora Krejcikova won the singles title while Ingrid Neel and Quinn Gleason teamed up to win the doubles.
