TO BE THE HIGHEST-GROSSING AND HIGHEST-ATTENDED COMBAT SPORTING EVENT IN AMALIE ARENA HISTORY

On December 18, in front of a sold-out crowd of over 16,000 fans, international superstar Jake “The Problem Child” Paul faces former MMA world champion Tyron “The Chosen One” Woodley in a rematch of their August clash won by Paul.

Paul vs. Woodley II titled “Leave No Doubt” will be the main event on SHOWTIME PPV^®, live from AMALIE Arena in Tampa, on Saturday. The former UFC champion was Paul’s toughest opponent to date and the first fighter to take boxing’s newest star the distance. The judges scored the fight 77-75 for Paul, 77-75 for Woodley and 78-74 for Paul.

Produced and presented by Most Valuable Promotions and SHOWTIME Sports^®, the event is the second live sporting event co-produced by Most Valuable Promotions. Jake Paul and BAVAFA Sports founder Nakisa Bidarian created MVP on the premise that content is king, and fighters are the creators of the content in martial arts.

“Bringing this fight to Tampa was something that SHOWTIME Sports President Stephen Espinoza, Jake and I were excited about and believed would be a success,” said Bidarian. “To be the highest-grossing and highest-attended combat sporting event AMALIE Arena has hosted to date is an honor and demonstrates the impact Jake Paul is having on combat sports only five fights into his career. Woodley steps in to replace professional boxer and reality TV star Tommy Fury, who withdrew from the event due to a medical issue that impacted his training camp. Paul vs. Woodley II is a professional cruiserweight boxing bout scheduled for eight rounds at a contract weight of 192 pounds.

Paul fought Woodley, a mixed martial artist, in August, defeating him in a split-decision bout. You may remember Paul’s light-up trunks, or Woodley’s trunks advertising “Dude Wipes.” Or maybe you remember how Paul told Woodley that he’ll give him a rematch if Woodley gets an “I love Jake Paul” tattoo.
