LIGHTNING PARTNER WITH METROPOLITAN MINISTRIES

FOR HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE

The Tampa Bay Lightning are partnering with Metropolitan Ministries to host two holiday food collection drives on Ford Thunder Alley at AMALIE Arena and at Sparkman Wharf prior to their home games on November 23 against the Philadelphia Flyers and on November 26 against the Seattle Kraken. This collection will make a tremendous impact for families in need and offer fans the experience of shared joy through giving.

Metropolitan Ministries

Metropolitan Ministries staff and volunteers will be accepting donations of food items on Ford Thunder Alley starting at 5 p.m. for the games on November 23 and November 26. The Lightning invite fans to bring one or more items and be entered to win a signed Ondrej Palat jersey. Want to know what donations they need most? On November 19 at the Metropolitan Ministries Holiday Tent, located at 905 North Govern Street in Tampa, 20 Lightning staff members volunteered for multiple shifts. The Bolts representatives assisted with client shopping, parking, wagon pulling, donation drop-offs, café operations and childcare while providing holiday meals and cheer for thousands of families from the Tampa Bay area. Metropolitan Ministries has an urgent need for donations of yams and/or canned beans, but all non-perishable food donations are accepted.
