Melanie Posner to exhibit at ‘That Art Festival’:
Melanie is a photo-realistic painter. She first studies the photograph and then attempts to reproduce the image as realistic as possible with paint! Melanie loves using vibrant colors in her artwork. She has a couple different variations of styles that have become noticeable in her work. She sometimes incorporates the use of a collage, and other times she will paint the spectrum of the rainbow. In her studio she primarily uses oil paint, however in my mural work she uses acrylic house paint.
Melanie is inspired by feminine beauty. She chooses to use the human form to express feelings of love and happiness in hope to make the viewer feel as colorful and alive as the painting itself! (Melanie is featured in top image of story) Her artwork is to the left.

Nicholas Lucius Showcases his artwork During First Friday:
Nicholas Lucius is a painter, mixed media artist, and an innovator in the Avant-Garde, experimenting with the human subconscious through the realms of surrealism, high fashion, and popular culture. Lucius sees his work as a “visual feast”, a vehicle to allow viewers to explore and indulge in their own existential apprehensions.
Nicholas Lucius’s experimental paintings, mixed media print installations, and digital collages incorporate elements traditionally used in conceptual and new media art. Heavily influenced by the surrealist, his Large-scale paintings often start with an idea that is drawn up, painted, and collaged using images from the internet, as well as using materials like acrylic or water-soluble oil paints. The piece is then scanned into Photoshop to be digitally altered or reinvented. Once the piece is perfected, it is printed on canvas using inkjet technology. The artwork is then transformed, once again, with an abundance of mixed media.
Imbued with its own evolution, the work takes form through a series of unstructured experiments. Lucius analyzes the endless possibilities of material or method to introduce an additional dimension to the work, loudly rejecting older artistic structures. With this, Lucius can deliver hyper surreal driven imagery, creating an oeuvre that is witty, compelling, and autonomous in the Avant-Garde.
Michael Vahl Displays Pop Art at ‘That Art Festival’:
Michael Vahl is a visual artist born and raised in Los Angeles, California. He specializes in one off detailed
portraiture and other unique crafted styles of artwork typically depicted with oil & acrylic that draws influences from pop art and modern culture but with a Vahl twist, creating a one of a kind visual experience.
Drawing since the age of five, Vahl is consistently learning his craft, honing his skills, and pushing the limits of his ability to produce works of art for the enjoyment of others. He decided to leave his life behind, including friends and family, to pursue his dream of being an artist here in Tampa Bay.
