LIGHTNING HIRE VETERAN PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCER

The Tampa Bay Lightning have hired veteran play-by-play announcer Dave Randorf as the voice of the team, the club and FOX Sports Sun announced today. Randorf brings more than 30 years of broadcasting experience to the Lightning family and will be joining the FOX Sports Sun broadcasting crew with NHL broadcasting veterans Brian Engblom, Paul Kennedy, Dave Andreychuk, Bobby Taylor, and Adam Hall. Veteran Play by Play Announcer Dave Randorf Hired by Tampa Bay Lightning

Randorf, 53, has been broadcasting NHL games for Rogers Sportsnet for the past six years, serving as the play-by-play commentator for Sportsnet’s national telecasts for Hockey Night in Canada, Wednesday Night Hockey, Rogers Hometown Hockey, and the Stanley Cup Playoffs. During the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Randorf served as the play-by-play announcer for the Western Conference Final for Sportsnet. He also announced the 2015 and 2016 NHL All-Star Game and Skills Competition for Sportsnet.

The Ryerson University graduate worked for 19 years at TSN prior to joining Sportsnet during the summer of 2014, holding roles as the studio host for CFL on TSN, play-by-play voice of the Montreal Canadiens and voice of the IIHF World Championships. Randorf also was the studio host for Olympic games in 2000, 2002, 2004, 2008, 2010 and 2012. He called Men’s hockey games at the 1998 Olympics in Nagano, Japan. While at TSN, he also covered the CFL and Grey Cup, as well as TSN and CTV’s coverage of figure skating. Randorf was the voice of the Montreal Canadiens for TSN from 2010-2014.

Prior to joining TSN, Dave Randorf spent two years in Vancouver, hosting the Vancouver Canucks pre- and post-game coverage. He also hosted a nightly talk show, Primetime Sports in Vancouver. From 1989 through 1995, he hosted a nightly sports show, Sportspage, for CKVU/Global Vancouver.

Randorf was also a torch relay runner for the 2010 Vancouver Olympic games and in 1999 he was nominated for a Gemini Award in the category for Best Sports Broadcaster.  He has three sons: Kyle, Blake, and Trevor.
