Bret Michaels To Perform For Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Friends Of Music On Friday, January 8th.  This invitation only concert series supports performing arts education programs At Ruth Eckerd Hall and across the Destination Tampa Bay Region.  Susan Crockett, Ruth Eckerd Hall President & CEO and the Ruth Eckerd Hall Board of Directors announced today that Bret Michaels, multi-platinum recording artist and music icon, will return to Clearwater on January 8 for a socially distanced invitation-only performance for Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Friends of Music.  

Bret Michael Sychak, professionally known as Bret Michaels, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, producer, and actor. He gained fame as the frontman of rock band Poison who have sold well over 45 million records worldwide and 15 million records in the United States alone. The band has also charted 10 singles to the Top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, including six Top 10 singles and a number-one single, “Every Rose Has Its Thorn”.

Ever the philanthropist, Michaels continues his efforts of bringing relief and support to great Florida based organizations previously performing at the “Toys In The Sun Run” in support of Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, having delivered toys to children in the Bahamas and Puerto Rico while serving as the Grand Marshall for the “Winterfest” parade. Michaels, whose charitable outreach is prominent in his new book Auto-Scrap-Ography (available at ShopBretMichaels.com), also returns to Florida this Summer for a good time bash performing on The Stadium Tour.

Michaels, a lifelong diabetic, the son of a veteran, and survivor of a life-threatening brain hemorrhage has always stood up to any challenge that was thrown at him. As a type 1 juvenile diabetic since the age of 6, he consistently leads the charge for diabetes awareness. Through his Life Rocks Foundation, he has raised millions of dollars for charity and he has additionally personally donated to causes throughout his career as well as  designing the Bret Michaels Hospitality and Music room, that he built for patients and their families at St. Joseph’s Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix.

His philanthropy has helped not only diabetes education and research but also a diverse range of causes such as childhood cancer, Veterans organizations, PetSmart Charities, Operation Homefront, Feelgood Foundation and many more. In 2019 and 2020 Michaels was awarded Humanitarian Of Year The Year and named College Radio Ambassador where he participated in a Q&A with students and also donated $10,000 to benefit college radio.

Established in 2010, Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Friends of Music is the only member appreciation program of its kind.  This program provides an unparalleled musical experience complete with high-end food and drink, over-the-top parties and the world’s most celebrated performers – all in an exclusive and intimate setting.
