Mishorim Gold Properties Signs Exciting Tenants

To the Newly Purchased Holiday Mall with Planned Improvements

Six weeks after purchasing the Holiday Mall, Mishorim Gold Properties has signed on five new tenants to the shopping complex, infusing the area with activities and offerings never seen before just in time for the Holidays!

The new tenants are Side Splitters Comedy Club, Bay Coffee Company, The Brick Jungle, Chicago Bar & Bistro, and an axe-throwing range.

“We are providing the local area with the perfect blend of retail, food, and entertainment—all in one location,” said developer and landlord Mark Gold. “Holiday Mall is going to become the heartbeat of the Holiday and New Port Richey communities. It’s going to be the place to go for families and friends for live music, entertainment, service and nightlife.”

Gold purchased the Holiday Mall in August for $8.56 million. He is putting $4.6 – $6 million into improving the complex. That includes the complete renovation of a former bank into a restaurant and bar. The owners, who operate three restaurants in Chicago, will offer a full restaurant and bar that features an open-air deck with outdoor lightning to host live music and feature local bands. The same owners will open up an urban axe-throwing range. Axe throwing is a modern sport that has grown in popularity throughout the world. (Developer Gold LEFT)

Side Splitters Comedy Club, which recently signed to open up at Gold’s other property, the Grove at Wesley Chapel, will bring in top comedians from around the country. The venue, which is undergoing more than $600,000 in renovations, will offer seating for approximately 300 patrons.

Joining the mix is Bay Coffee Company, a trendy coffee shop featuring organic, fair-trade coffees; and the Brick Jungle, a local building block and Lego product super store.

Daniel Rothwell, owner of the Brick Jungle, said he is excited to be bringing the joy of Lego to the Holiday area.

“It has been something that has brought my family together since I was young and now, I get to help other families build special memories together,” Rothwell said. “And on top of that, I get to be a part of a bigger movement to help revitalize this area. What a fantastic opportunity!”

Mishorim Gold Properties has been lauded for its ability to turn stagnant shopping plazas into trendy and popular spaces that reinvent the way residents live, work, and play.

The Holiday Mall, located at the southeast corner of U.S. Highway 19 North and Moog Road, is anchored by Winn Dixie. The 130,177 square-foot center now features 23 tenants and 3 available units.

After the purchase by Mishorim Gold Properties, all major tenants signed 5-year leases. And in keeping true to its reputation for making changes quickly without sacrificing quality, the property in less than six weeks has a whole new look. The frontage work and landscaping are complete.

LED lights and an outdoor music system will be set up in the coming weeks to create a safe, well-lit and inviting environment. In addition, Gold is installing ultraviolet lights in the air conditioning units to add a boost to the disinfectant process. This technology has been shown to destroy the outer protein coating of the SARS-COV-2 virus, thus reducing the risk of transmission through air.

The transformation of the Holiday Mall comes at a time of growth and renewal for the area, which includes the planned opening of Rasmussen College up the street to educate and train 25,000 students and a $3-million landscaping project with the Department of Transportation along the U.S. 19 median.

Holiday Mall is the 22nd property purchased by the partnership and the second property in 11 months. Last year, the partnership purchased the Grove at Wesley Chapel for almost $64 million and has since signed on 75 new tenants.
