Chalktober Fest Brings art in motion to South Clearwater Beach this weekend. Four talented artists are scheduled to arrive for Chalktober Fest in front of some of the best eateries in South Clearwater Beach on Thursday, Oct. 8, to begin working on their spectacular chalk art. They plan to complete their creations by noon on Saturday. Oct. 10. They will be participating in Week 2 of Chalktober Fest, the month-long celebration of creativity and fun sponsored by the new AMPLIFY Clearwater Chamber of Commerce, serving businesses in Clearwater and Clearwater Beach. The event is presented by Morton Plant Hospital/BayCare Health Systems.

Artists Participating in this Week’s Chalktober Fest in South Clearwater Beach

Artist Matt McAllister will create his chalk art design in front of Salty’s Island Bar & Grille, located at 437 South Gulfview Blvd. while artist Ashley Whittaker can be found working on a completely different design nearby in front of Opal Sands Resort, home to Sea Guini Restaurant, at 430 South Gulfview Blvd. Damon Meri will be the chalk art artist outside Barefoot Beach House at 332 S. Gulfview Blvd, and a fourth artist to be determined will be preparing his chalk creation at Cousin’s Maine Lobster at 309 Coronado Drive. Art lovers who come out to see their work will have an opportunity to vote for their favorites, with the top vote-getter receiving a special prize.

Artists Participating in this Week's Chalktober Fest in South Clearwater Beach

This is the second week of a five-weekend-long event scheduled at different locations throughout Clearwater Beach and Downtown Clearwater.  Throughout the event, local and visiting artists have been invited to chalk masterpieces in front of a variety of your favorite hot spots in various areas of Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach to attract customers to all participating businesses in a friendly, social distancing way. The participating businesses will be open to offer food and refreshments for those who wish to join in the celebration.

Amplify Clearwater brings Chalktoberfest to South Clearwater Beach

Each weekend during the rest of the month of October, different portions of the AMPLIFY Clearwater community will host artists, who will begin their work on Thursday of the week in front of participating businesses with a goal of completing their work by noon on Saturday. The weekend of October 15-17 will bring the artists back to The District in Downtown Clearwater, with a special street party being planned for the opening night on Thursday, Oct. 15. Enjoy live music and food and drinks, shopping, and extra fun. Then from October 22-24 the Chalktober Fest brigade will march to popular Stone Crab weekend on North Clearwater Beach, with the final showing on the Halloween weekend of October 29-31 in Central Clearwater Beach.

One of the goals of Chalktober Fest is to offer residents and visitors an opportunity to see the artists at work and to enjoy viewing their art in a leisurely fashion, while also seeing the reopened businesses that are following all of the post-Pandemic rules while continuing to offer some of the finest quality food and drinks and services that are why Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach are great places to visit.
